What is male sterility?
Male sterility is the disease that a married couple has cohabited for two years and the wife cannot get pregnant without any contraception if it is due to the husband. It used to be classified into two kinds: male sterility and male infertility. Male sterility means that the husband can make the wife pregnant but the fetus cannot survive, for example, miscarriage and fetus death. While male infertility means that the husband can not make the wife pregnant. At present, we no longer discriminate these two kinds and it is just called male sterility.
The definition of male sterility made by WHO is: The inability of the male to make a woman pregnant after at least 12 months history of sex life without contraception. Now the definition widely accepted in China is: The inability of the male to make a woman pregnant after at least 2 years history of sex life without contraception
Male Hospital of Guangzhou reminds you: what is the most suitable period for a man to bare a healthy baby?
The prime age for male reproduction is around 25-35 years old. The quality of seminal fluid will decline as a man ages. After 30 years old, the ability of producing sperms begins to descend, as well as the sperm’s quality and fertility. The older a man is, the more unfavorable factors will affect the development of the sperms.
